FunctionThe keyboard is a manual input device through which users communicate with a computer. Keyboards are for inputting symbolic information (commonly for word processing and programming purposes). They are equipped with several buttons (modeled after typewriter buttons) that communicate electronically with the central processing unit of the computer.

This particular device was used with a Macintosh 512K desktop computer, 2003-1-0112a, the origin of which is unknown.
