Metal bar with all four top edges beveled. The beveled edge along the face of the bar is marked for centimeters; the beveled edge along the back of the bar is marked for inches.
The bar is stored in a wooden box with a yellow label affixed to its lid by eight brass tacks. Small holes around the perimeter of the lid indicate that it may have been nailed to the base.
