Description:
This is Scheik compound microscope with a continental stand. The instrument is constructed of brass and It has a solid, rectangular foot with two curved sides. The foot supports a pillar, which holds the stage and the arm attaching to the monocular body tube. The coarse focus is by sliding the eyepiece tube. Fine focus is by a horizontal screw working against a tension spring and lever to tilt stage.
The stage is square and has a single stage clip. The second is missing. The top of the stage has been purposely oxidized. There is a rotating diaphragm wheel below the stage. A substage plano-convex mirror is on an adjustable, articulated arm mounted to the foot.
This instrument is accompanied by a horizontal wooden case.
