Description:
This is a Leitz simple dissecting microscope, model no. 46. It is equipped with a small horseshoe-shaped base made of cast iron in a curvacious design. It is painted glossy black. The post is bright brass. It carries an blackened brass arm with a split ring mount for a lens. Focus is by rack and pinion. One screw to operate the rack and pinion is missing.
The square stage is attached to the post. It is blackened brass with a large circular aperture in which to insert a glass disk. The substage mirror is also mounted to the post. It is plane on one side and has a white disk on the other.
Lenses and handrests are missing.
This instrument is accompanied by flat case for storage. The case is fitted and lined in places with padded burgundy velvet.
