Class B chemical. Cylindrical glass bottle with silver screw cap containing Alizarine Geramole B, an artifical mordant dyestuff used for cotton, wool, and silk. Cap is pink on top and stamped, "FARBENFABRIKEN VORM FR. BAYER & Co. ELBERFELD. Registered Trademark." "EB & Co 120" is molded on the bottom of the bottle. Main label is white, black, and red, and is printed with the company's logo. "0971" is printed in white on a red label near the base of the bottle.

Alizarin was the first natural dyestuff (originally from madder root) prepared artifically from the coal-tar product anthracene (1868). Friedrich Bayer & Co. was founded by Friedrich Bayer in 1863.
