Description:
This is a small Abbe-type camera lucida. It is designed to be attached to the top of the microscope tube.

As described in the B & L catalogue of 1900, the instrument consists of an Abbe-type prism "mounted in a closed case which is attached to a clamp by a pivot, permitting it to be swung out from the eyepiece for direct examination of the object. It is fixed in optical alignment. The mirror is in a fixed position close to the prism, set at an angle of 30 degrees from the horizontal. The clamp has a clamping screw conveniently placed so that it can easily be raised or lowered on the eyepiece tube to get full field of view for the various eyepieces."

This instrument is accompanied by a fitted, black leather case.

A tag on the instrument has inked instructions for its use.
