Description:
This is a Queen & Co. large compound microscope. The stand is inclinable and the base is horseshoe-shaped. The base supports a round pillar with a hinge holding the post with the fine adjustment knob on top. A flange attaches the post to the vertical monocular body, which has a revolving triple nosepiece. For the coarse adjustment, there is rack and pinion.

There is a square mechancial stage with a vulcanite surface. The stage is fitted underneath with a magnifier and a disc diaphragm. There is also a substage mirror on a swinging arm with a groove permitting the mirror to slide up and down.

The instrument is stored in a wooden case.
