Description:
Rectangular wooden box containing four separate wooden racks. They each have a hinged cover and contain 24 numbered, differently hued color caps. (Four are missing here.) The caps at each end of the racks are fixed. The racks are removable. The caps color schemes are based on the Inter-Society Color Council system (on this system, see ISCC website).

The accompanying documents are dated December 1942. They comprise general explanation on how to conduct the test, and record sheets in the shape of a circle, named "100-HUE CIRCUIT TEST". Once done, the circular charts give a visual representation of the test results, which can then be analysed.

FunctionThis test was designed for color perception. The task is to arrange 100 color discs (in four separate racks of 25 discs) in a sequence with minimal separation of hue between adjacent discs. It is used to measure hue discrimination.
