Historical AttributesIn 1869, the Clarks completed an equatorial telescope for the Harvard College Observatory. It was known as the West Equatorial. It had an aperture of 5.25 inches and a 7.5-foot focal length. It was taken by George Clark and John Whipple to Shelbyville, Kentucky to photograph the solar eclipse of 1869.

This may be the objective cell and correcting lenses for that telescope.
