Historical AttributesThis camera lucida belonged to marine biologist, Arthur Grover Humes (1916-1999), professor of biology at Boston University. He was the first director of the Boston University Marine Program at Woods Hole, founding editor of the Journal of Crustacean Biology, and the scientist responsible for describing more than 5% of the almost 12,000 species of copepods known today.
