Description:
A small, cardboard "matchbox" that originally held gummed labels now holds 47 lens gauges of varying sizes. They are made of brass and nickel sheets cut into crescent and circular shapes, which were then soldered together. Each gauge is marked with a number (e.g., .575 or .305 or 38 or 1.10, etc). They came from the Tolles workshop.

A gummed label on the top of the box is penciled, "Tolles forms / from / Chas X Dalton, / 1903."

The side of the box is printed with "MANUFACTURED BY / Dennison Mfg. Co. / THE TAG MAKERS / BOSTON. NEW YORK. PHILADELPHIA. CHICAGO. ST. LOUIS.

(This little box of gauges is currently stored in microscope parts box 1045a.)
