Description:
A Disney Winnie the Pooh Anniversary Pendulum Clock with a porcelain base and clock face. The clock is covered by a glass dome. The pendulum bob of the clock is four honey bees that rotate in a circular motion. The pendulum bob is used to regulate the movement of the clock. The movements are attributed to quartz pendulum movements. Quartz pendulum movements are the result of an electromagnet that sends a pulse to the pendulum, however, the pendulum does not affect the clock keeping time accurately. The structure of the clock is silver with a gold finish. The clock requires one AA battery to operate.

FunctionThe primary function of the clock is to display the time. It also functions as a collector's/keepsake item.
Historical AttributesThe Winnie the Pooh franchise is one of Disney's most successful franchises and merchandise generates a substantial amount of revenue. Walt Disney Productions acquired trademarks, the licensing rights to the stories, and film production rights of Winnie Pooh and other characters from Stephen Slesinger, Inc and the estate of A.A. Milne in 1961. In 1991 Disney was involved in a legal dispute with Stephen Slesinger, Inc, over undisclosed royalties. In 2001, Disney purchased the rights for future use of Winnie the Pooh from the A.A. Milne Trust, effective until 2026. The legal battle with Stephen Slesinger, Inc ended in 2009. The court concluded, Stephen Slesinger, Inc has transferred all rights to Winnie-the-Pooh and related Pooh works.
Curatorial RemarksThe clock is currently used a decorative item. Winnie the Pooh was M. Alas favorite childhood character.

After researching what the marking in the battery terminal signified, SF30 stands for Solicitation Form 30. Solicitation Form 30 is used for contract modifications. For instance, "amending invitation for bids [make changes in quantity, specifications, delivery schedules, opening dates, etc., or to correct a defective or ambiguous invitation]; modifying purchase and delivery orders; and modifying contracts. The form may also be used to amend solicitations for negotiated contracts" ("53.243" and "14.208"). It is unknown why manufacturer FANTASMA added this marking to the clock.
