Inscribedinside the box's cover, printed on paper: Chromoscope lenses can be taken out (first removing brass plate on left side) and cleaned with a soft linen handkerchief. Colors will not be correct unless lenses are replaced as marked. Eyepiece lenses and slit must also be correctly placed. / To use the Diffraction Chromoscope in daylight, it must be placed close to a window where there is a sky exposure, and window shade should be drawn down to below level of the eyes, but without shading the bottom of the chromoscope. Avoid direct sunlight. A special illuminator with Welsbach gas burner is provided for night use.
