This six-foot section formerly on the Harvard Cyclotron beam line has around it a set quadrapole magnets to help focus the beam of high-energy protons. Pieces of tape with numbers are found at various places on the beam line. Another piece of tape on the quadrapole indicates where electrical wires are connected. The quadrapoles are identified as A, B, C and D.

FunctionThis tube in aluminum was used to carry the high-energy proton beam created by the cyclotron. The magnets ensured the beam would stay focused at the center of this container.
Historical AttributesThis beam section was assembled at the Harvard Cyclotron Laboratory and removed from there in 2002.
