FunctionThis Quantum/Radiometer/Photometer can be used along with a range of sensors to measure electromagnetic radtion, light intensity, and solar energy. This instrument is compatible with all of the LI-COR radiation sensors with LI-COR "SB" calconnectors (calibration connectors). According to the instrument manual, "with these sensors, measurements of Photosynthetically Active Radiation in air or water, illumination given in Lux (radiation as the human eye sees it), and solar energy can be obtained." As the FUNCTION knob indicates, this instrument can be used to measure both terrestrial light conditions (in air) or aquatic light conditions (in water). Furthermore, the LI-185B recorder output connects with a range of data recorders such as the LI-COR LI-1000 DataLogger )object number 2004-1-0388).
The instruction manual for the instrument is available here
LI-COR's quantum sensors are designed to measure the intensity of radiation in the range of wavelengths that plants use for photosynthesis (400-700nm). For more information on these sensors, see the specifications at LI-COR's website.
