Description:
Acme Apparatus Reflex Acmefone 4-tube reflex receiver, late 1923, without speaker.
Rectangular wooden box with black metal front panel and hinged lid. 3 large, 4 small and 1 double dial. 3 with silver discs. 2 black capped electrical connectors and 2 circular cut-outs for meters. 4 tubes inside.
Bakelite dials and knobs were used to in the detection of radio signals, which was accomplished by a crystal detector. The front panel has two holes (for meters, now missing?). The instrument appears to have been powered by two batteries. The inside tubes are not shock mounted. They are from: Cunningham CX301A (1) and RCA Radiotron 201A (2).
