FunctionFor measuring the angle of inclination between two points.
The user first places the base of the clinometer on a plane table, parallel to his direction of sight. He then brings the brass rod into a vertical position. Next, he adjusts the tilt of the table until the bubble level is pointing at the point of interest. Finally, he raises the end of the bubble level until the bubble is at its center, and tightens the end of the level against the vertical rod. The reading on the rod is the angle of inclination between his starting position and the point of interest.
