Description:

This is one of two rules that, when used together, constitute a parallel straight edge. The rule has a plexiglass base on top of which are attached two light wooden bars of equal length, on top of which is screwed a darker wooden rule, on top of which is attached a square wooden bar of shorter length. Each end of the rule is protected with black metal casing. At one end, there is a green plastic ball handle. A red cord with a metal plate at one end is attached to the rule at the other end.

FunctionThis rule is meant to be attached to its counterpart (2003-1-0164b) with a system of red cords such that the rules are kept parallel. The system then functions as a parallel rule and straight edge.
