W. T. Grant Company

1906 - 1976

W. T. Grant Company was a chain of department stores founded by William Thomas Grant. The first opened in Lynn, Massachusetts in 1906 as the "W. T. Grant Co. 25 Cent Store." The chain was also known as "Grants."

Like many large store chains, Grants had its own brand labels. W. T. Grant sold quality radios and vacuum tubes under the Songbird label in the 1920s. The manufacturer of the tubes is unknown.
