Isaac Adams, Jr.

1836-1911

Isaac Adams, Jr., the son of the inventer of the Adams power press for printing (Isaac Adams, Sr.), was born in South Boston in 1836. Educated at Bowdoin College, Harvard Medical School, and the Ècole de Medicine in Paris, he established a physician's practice in Boston. At the same time, he served as a consultant in industrial chemistry to several businesses. He patented the earliest practical nickel-plating process in 1869, and founded the United Nickel Co. in New York.

Adams, Jr., died at Annisquam, Massachusetts in 1911.
