Remarks: N.B. The Breguet family and firms use no accent marks in the Breguet name. For a family tree of important Breguet descendants, see the constituent record of Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823).
Since 1840, Louis-Clément Breguet had sold electrical apparatus in parallel with watches under the Breguet label. Instruments were marked "Breguet" even though the formal name of the company was Breguet, Neveu et Cie.

When the Breguet family sold off the watchmaking business to Edward Brown in 1870, the simple "Breguet" label went with that product. The family needed a new name to distinguish their ongoing business making electrical apparatus and timers. Some items early in this period were marked, "Breguet FT," which stood for "Breguet fabricant." During this time, Antoine Breguet (1851-1882), the son of Louis-Clément Breguet, was put in charge of the family workshop.

By 1881, the company had reorganized under the name of Maison Breguet. Maison Breguet continued in business until the 1960s.
