Edward Bausch

1854 - 1944

Remarks: son of John Jacob Bausch, founder of Bausch & Lomb
Son of J. J. Bausch, the founder of Bausch and Lomb Optical Company, Edward Bausch was instrumental in bringing microscopes to production at the firm. He also invented and patented a new type of photographic shutter--the iris diaphragm shutter--which was based on the reaction of the eye's iris to the light.
