Alexander von Humboldt

Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Alexander von Humboldt (1769 – 1859) was a Prussian geographer, naturalist and explorer and the younger brother of the Prussian minister, philosopher and linguist Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767–1835).
