Rawson Electrical Instrument Company
1918 - 1968
The company was founded in 1918 by Homer E. Rawson, who had been vicepresident of the General Radio Company in Cambridge Mass. Rawson was the financial backer, and Arthur J. Lush was the chief engineer. Lush had previously worked with the Robert W. Paul Instrument Co. in England. The company initially manufactured electrical meters similar to those of Robert W. Paul, and appears to have distributed some of Paul's equipment in the United States.
Rawson died in 1923 and Arthur Lush eventually assumed both ownership and direction of the company.
Arthur Lush died in 1963 and his son, Morley J. Lush, the new president, renamed the company to the Rawson - Lush Instrument Company Inc. the company also moved its operations to Acton, Massachusetts.
