National Defense Research Committe

1940 - 1941

The National Defense Research Committee (NDRC) was formed in 1940 to research new technologies for the American military. Vannevar Bush, director of the Carnegie Institute, was the chairman. In 1941 the Office of Scientific Research and Development was formed as a sucessor to the NDRC.
