Radiometer
founded 1935
Radiometer was founded in 1935 by Carl Schrøder and Børge Nielsen in Copehnagen, Denmark. Initially, they manufactured electronic measurement instruments for the radio industry.
In 1952, Radiometer was asked to design an instrument to measure the gas content of blood based on their instruments for measuring the acidity of liquids. This work led to the world's first blood gas instrument.
Since that moment, the company has specialized in blood gas and other biomedical instrumentation.
