Shortwave and Television Corporation
founded 1930
Shortwave and Television Corporation of Boston, Massachusetts was founded in 1930 by A.M. "Vic" Morgan, Hollis Baird, and Butler Perry. The company owned and was co-located with W1AVX, Boston's second television station.
American inventor Hollis Baird was the chief engineer at the Shortwave Television and Radio Corporation. The company made extensive use of his name as it hinted at a connection to the Scottish television pioneer John Logie Baird. The two were actually not related.
