Columbia Phonograph Company
1891 - 1921
This company was part of a larger holding company called the American Columbia Phonograph Company, General. When it was in financial trouble in 1921, it was taken over by its British branch. This company is part of the story that led to the founding of the big record label, Columbia Records.
